Ms. Hay is based in Boulder, Colorado and has a background in photography, drawing, oil, and watercolor.  She is a formalist in her approach to composition and is principally interested in arid landscapes.  Her concentration on arid landscapes stems from both her physical geography background as well as aesthetic interests.  Ms. Hay holds a BA degree in Geography from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA degree in Art History with a minor in Photography from the University of Colorado, Denver.   She has enjoyed several Pocket Sketching classes with Kath Macauley, Tucson watercolor artist and developer of the fun and quick and easy “Pocket Sketching™” technique.  She is certified to teach the “Pocket Sketching” technique.
